Are you a teacher, a mental health professional, a riding instructor, or equestrian? Careers in Equine Facilitated Activities (EFA) cover a wide range of rewarding roles. At Vinceremos, horses are paired with staff and clients to support an individuals’ physical, mental, educational, and emotional well-being. These professionals utilize the unique relationship between humans and horses to promote healing, learning, and development.
Specific Roles
Mental Health Professionals
LCSWs and therapists, working alongside an Equine Specialist, partner with horses to help individuals overcome emotional and mental health challenges through Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). This type of therapy is very effective for those who have experienced trauma. The non-verbal nature of the process can be less overwhelming than traditional talk therapy. Other diagnoses that benefit include anxiety, ADHD, eating disorders, addiction, PTSD, and other mental health conditions.

Riding Instructors and Equestrians
Are you a riding instructor or equestrian looking to broaden your teaching of equestrian activities?
Have you considered becoming an adaptive riding instructor certified by PATH Intl.? Learn about PATH Intl. Certification
PATH certified instructors provide mounted riding lessons to individuals with disabilities. Their focus is teaching equestrian skills based on the individuals physical and cognitive capabilities. Adaptive Instructors are trained to adapt the lessons and equipment to the rider's individual ability. Riders participating in this program may aspire to compete as Special Olympians or Paralympians.

Educators
Educators implement the Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program. This experiential approach to learning, partners teachers, students and horses to develop life skills, enhance communication and improve emotional regulation in individuals with different abilities. Teachers, in partnership with an Equine Specialist, guide participants through activities with horses, allowing them to grow in self-awareness, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
