Work Readiness Program

Equine Assisted Learning benefits clients of all ages. Students come to the program at the recommendation of many, but they stay because they enjoy learning from and with the horses. Horses foster a great work ethic! The program is set up to meet the objectives and goals for the social, life, and vocational skills that any employer would be looking for in a potential employee. These skills will promote a happier, healthier life for all that participate.

Participants bond and communicate with horses through grooming and ground-based team-building exercises, which enhance overall wellness and personal growth. The training includes safety, routine care of the horses, facility safety, and daily farm chores, as well as basic horsemanship skills such as horse leading, basic first aid, tack care, and equine behaviors. Each of these routines can easily be transferred to other work environments. They prepare each student for success in the workplace.

Clients become independent as skills improve, and increased self-confidence opens doors to other social and vocational activities. The development of solid work habits could lead to suitable employment. Clients build on their success to achieve individual goals. This program empowers clients to seek the next level of engagement.  Some may explore the world of careers in the equine sector. However, the skills are transferable to many opportunities.
